The City’s Aquatics Division is looking for seasonal cashier positions at the Water Park at Bohrer Park this summer. The summer season begins Memorial Day weekend May 23 2026 and runs through Labor Day September 7 2026. Opportunities to work at the City’s indoor aquatic facility throughout the year may also be available to successful candidates.
Cashiers perform cash management functions and assist with administrative duties, including welcoming patrons, answering the phone, processing registrations and memberships, providing assistance and information, and ensuring customers have a safe, secure, and enjoyable visit to the Water Park.
Flexible hours daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday work is required. Hours per week will vary based on operational needs. Hands‑on training is provided. Starting pay rate is $18.01 per hour.
What you will do with us:- Greet visitors, check bags at front gate, and answer the telephone.
- Process registrations and reservations and payments for admission, passes, lessons, group reservations, and other activities.
- Prepare bank deposits and related reports.
- Respond to routine inquiries and provide general information regarding aquatic activities.
- Routine administrative tasks.
- Assist with facility maintenance such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, collecting/disposing of trash, restocking supplies, etc.
- Provide outstanding service, pursue continuous improvement, and exceed expectations.
- At least 16 years of age by May 15 2026.
- At least 2 years of experience in guest services or equivalent.
- Previous cash management experience preferred.
- A positive, customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to deal with customers professionally, diplomatically, and courteously.
- Be dependable, reliable, and punctual with a high level of maturity.
- Ability to use good judgment and enforce rules and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification desirable but not required.
- Or any acceptable equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job.

Work permits are required for all minors under the age of 18 to work in the State of Maryland. Work permits are issued by the Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Labor & Industry, and are not issued until the minor has been offered a job.
Working in and around an outdoor aquatic environment subjects you to seasonal temperatures and weather conditions, noise, and other dangers and distractions. You may routinely be exposed to the sun and extreme heat and to toxic or caustic chemicals and allergenic substances, as well as blood and body fluids when cleaning or rendering assistance. You may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment while performing some job duties.
