Accounting Manager; Construction

Overview

Cherry Bekaert is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead all accounting and financial operations for our growing construction company. This is an individual contributor role
—you will serve as the sole person in accounting
, owning the full cycle of financial management and reporting for the organization. The ideal candidate has construction industry experience
, is proficient in Quick Books
, and thrives in an environment where they can take full ownership of accounting processes.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial data
• Oversee cash flow, reconciliations, and month-end close

• Manage job cost accounting
  , including budget vs. actual tracking
• Handle project accounting
  , contract tracking, and cost allocations
• Process AIA billing and all construction-related invoicing

• Manage AP
  , including subcontractor invoices and vendor payments
• Manage AR
  , including progress billing and collections
• Maintain lien releases, COIs, and subcontractor compliance

• Process certified payroll for approximately 28 employees
• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws and reporting requirements

• Utilize Quick Books for all accounting operations
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• 5+ years of accounting experience
  , with at least 3 years in construction
• Proficiency in Quick Books required
• Strong understanding of job costing
  , project accounting, and AIA billing
• Experience processing certified payroll
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (but not required)
