Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Practice Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations within a busy family medical practice environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent patient service abilities, and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience with healthcare insurances, medical billing, coding, and insurance verification is required.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment committed to quality patient care and efficient office management. Excellent customer service multitasking and flexibility are a must!

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a healthcare clinic or in a similar position is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks and prioritize appropriately
  • Ability to work in fast-paced situations and make sound decisions quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of compassion
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Duties
  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems such as Athena (bonus factor)
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance authorization and billing procedures
  • Collect payments and process medical collections accurately
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating medical records
  • Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries
  • Prepare and manage medical records, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and communication purposes
