Position Overview

Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company,is seeking a civil/environmental/water resources or biological engineer interested in wetlands, streams, and water resources. Projects will include stream restoration, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, low impact development, wetlands mitigation design, dam inspections, FEMA map revisions, and floodplain studies.

Job Duties

Primary duties will include:

  • Stream restoration design, project drawings
  • Stream assessment and monitoring
  • Stream restoration construction oversight
  • Hydrologic watershed analysis
  • Hydraulic analysis of open and closed drainage systems
  • SWM/LID/BMP design
  • County and state dam inspections and dam safety consulting
  • Wetlands mitigation design, project drawings
  • FEMA map revision requests
  • Flood proofing and flood mitigation design
  • Floodplain studies
  • Clean Water Act permitting
  • Chesapeake Bay Critical Area delineation
  • Chesapeake Bay preservation studies and approvals
  • Preparing presentations for hearings and client review
  • Other civil and environmentally-related studies
  • Autodesk computer aided design work

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental/water resources or biological engineering, or closely related discipline
  • EIT

PREFERRED:

  • Up to five years of relevant experience
  • Experience with stream restoration design
  • Experience with hydrologic and/or hydraulic modelling
  • Experience with dam break studies and inundation mapping
  • Experience with floodplain modelling and/or FEMA map revisions
  • Experience in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and TR-55
  • Master’s degree in civil/environmental or biological engineering, or closely related discipline
