Job Summary
Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of clinic patients. Ensures that patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Distributes appropriate information to hospital departments.
DescriptionFull Time
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summary of Essential Job Functions- Responsible for scheduling patients, setting up patient files, registering patients, and entering charges for clinic services.
- Responsible for verifying payment (insurance, workers' comp, indigent, etc.) eligibility.
- Responsible for obtaining all needed patient signatures and collecting payment on outgoing patients, recording payments and forwarding them to the NTMC Business office per clinic policy.
- Provides information to the patient or patient representative about billing, complaint process, patient rights, and HIPAA. Distributes clinic-specific literature.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly with supervisors, physicians, and coworkers.
- Interacts professionally and compassionately with patients and their families, providing explanations and verbal reassurance as needed.
- Ensures that documentation meets current standards and clinic/hospital policies.
- Maintains accurate patient medical records. Files new patient documents, physician notes, and reports according to clinic policy.
- Basic computer knowledge (experience with Word/Excel, etc. or willingness to learn) and ability to touch type.
- Experience with information systems or willingness to learn.
- May be required to sit or stand for long periods.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

- Education:
High School or better. - Experience:
Preferred – clinic experience. - Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
