Assistant Community Manager

Company Overview: Asset Living is a third‑party management firm founded in 1986 that fosters thriving communities nationwide. Over the years, we have grown from a small property‑management firm into a trusted partner with a portfolio that spans multifamily, single‑family rentals, affordable housing, build‑to‑rent, active adult, and student housing divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee everyday operations and financial functions of the housing community under the supervision of the Community Manager.
  • Manage delinquency and rent collection to optimize cash flow and financial position.
  • Handle all aspects of operations (personnel, leasing, maintenance, financial, admin & risk management) in the absence of the Community Manager.
  • Supervise all property and staff to ensure compliance with company policies, safety & fair housing guidelines, and liability concerns.
  • Financial Management: posting payments and income, reconciling account receivables, monitoring bad debt, budgeting, posting charges, end‑of‑month closing procedures, record keeping, walking units and posting move‑out charges.
  • Personnel Management: onsite attendance, screening, hiring, training staff, coaching & guidance, ensuring compliance with policies, leasing techniques, marketing strategies, resident complaints, retention programs, lease and move‑in processes.
  • Administrative Management: monitoring customer service and maintenance responsiveness, maintaining property appearance, vendor bid management, and resource planning.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2 years experience in housing industry, or 1–2 years related experience/training, or equivalent combination.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of onsite software functions.
  • Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to remain stationary, stand or sit for prolonged periods, perform repetitive wrist & hand motions.
  • Frequently required to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally required to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, step stools, work in overhead positions, lift up to 25 lbs, operate machinery or motor vehicles, work overtime, weekends, night hours, and in small or enclosed spaces.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $22 to $24 per hour (full‑time). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, disability insurance, 401K with employer matching, commission and performance bonuses (when applicable), paid sick days, and company holidays.
