Job Description SummaryService Manager
Duties & Responsibilities- Manage repair and maintenance of company-owned and customer equipment, organizing yard status (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
- Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs and ensure equipment availability.
- Order and maintain parts supplies.
- Provide training and assistance to staff mechanics.
- Work with equipment vendors to learn maintenance requirements and capabilities of new inventory.
- Evaluate equipment after repairs, maintenance, or safety checks.
- Document equipment status before and after rental.
- Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation.
- Promote safety awareness and perform quality control checks.
- Maintain organized equipment service records.
- Create, update, close, and bill work orders.
- File warranty claims promptly.
- Commission new equipment and perform parts inventory.
- Handle disposal of solid and hazardous material waste (batteries, used oil & filters, antifreeze, wash sludge).
- Prepare reports on service status, fleet condition, work orders, warranty claims, inventory, financial trends, and department performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Extensive experience with repair and maintenance of self-propelled platforms and lifts.
- Knowledge of work planning, scheduling, and supervisory activities.
- Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements.
- Clear perspective on maintenance and repair challenges in the industry.
- Planning and management experience.
- Computer literacy and reporting experience.
- Inventory management experience.
Roles require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as needed.
