Environmental Manager - Hybrid Work Schedule
Position at Mansfield Oil Company and its subsidiaries.
OverviewThe Environmental Manager is responsible for implementing environmental compliance strategies and ensuring compliance with government and company regulations, acting as liaison to federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities- Oversee compliance for Mansfield Oil Company and assist each department with regulatory issues.
- Attend meetings with prospects and existing customers to discuss environmental programs and capabilities.
- Update internal and external customers regarding environmental issues and regulations.
- Monthly compliance monitoring: oversee monthly requirements, resolve alarms, report, and recommend actions.
- Annual testing assistance: oversee testing procedures, develop SOPs, review contractor invoices, manage testing failure reports.
- Continue education to maintain compliance with external entities.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment, including Level 4 certification for Veeder‑Root automatic tank gauge every 18 months and other necessary certifications.
- Compliance, regulations, and permitting: manage financial responsibilities, oversee environmental requirements, assist with permitting, fill out required forms, review leak detection records, meet inspectors, conduct inspections, manage operator certifications.
- Customer oversight: manage customer environmental requirements, conduct site inspections, coordinate with state and municipal agencies, coordinate operator certifications.
- Training: conduct spill response training for staff, update procedures, provide customer training, conduct site audits.
- Program growth: manage third‑party relationships, partner with sales, develop growth strategies, collaborate with marketing, assist in webinar development.
- Coaching and mentoring: collaborate with HR to select and develop team members, set goals and metrics, provide feedback, review performance.
- Formal education and certification: High school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Knowledge & experience: Minimum 3 years of fuel systems management, demonstrated team leadership experience preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong desire to continue education.
- Qualifications & characteristics: Leadership, strong communication skills, ability to work in a team environment.
