The Bilingual Translator will be responsible for supporting families and Special Education Teams in meetings. This position will be responsible for increasing parent and family communication regarding services and supports for students with disabilities by interpreting meetings from Spanish to English and English to Spanish for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

The Bilingual Translator will be responsible for supporting families and Special Education Teams in meetings. This position will be responsible for increasing parent and family communication regarding services and supports for students with disabilities by interpreting meetings from Spanish to English and English to Spanish for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Specifications- Contact parents, families, or stakeholders through a variety of communication tools (phone, email, social media, newsletter, etc.) in order to schedule and encourage participation in IEP meetings.
- Act as a resource for non-English speaking families for the purpose of providing information and translating concerns to school personnel.
- Attend and participate in district professional learning and meetings.
- Provide interpreting in English and in Spanish for parents, teachers, and administrators during conferences, meetings, workshops, or any other type of activity where communication is needed.
- Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork related to parent and Special Education.
- Attend all meetings to provide translating services for families. This involves travel to/from schools across the district on a daily basis so independent transportation is required.
- Respond to requests for meetings and schedule meetings for Special Education teams across the district.
- Translate documents (letters or presentations) from Spanish to English and English to Spanish.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the administration.
- Operate standard office equipment
- Use school-related computer software and applications such as Infinite Campus, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office (Word & Power Point)
