Job Summary

The Ambulatory Nurse Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of clinical and administrative operations within the outpatient clinic. This includes oversight of both front office (scheduling, registration, patient access) and back office (nursing care, clinical workflows, patient safety) functions. The Nurse Manager ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while driving operational efficiency, staff engagement, and regulatory compliance.

Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications: Registered Nurse currently licensed in Georgia. Current BLS certification required.
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Operations: Provide direct supervision to nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, MAs) and front office personnel (receptionists, schedulers, patient service representatives). Collaborate with providers and clinic leadership to ensure effective clinic flow and operational performance. Develop staffing schedules, approve timecards, and manage productivity benchmarks. Ensure appropriate training, competency, and continuing education for clinical and administrative staff.
  • Clinical Oversight: Oversee clinical protocols and ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and regulatory requirements. Monitor patient care activities to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery. Support coordination of care, patient education, and follow-up as needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and infection control programs.
  • Front Office Management: Ensure efficient patient access operations including registration, check-in/out, and scheduling. Oversee insurance verification, authorizations, and point-of-service collections. Promote excellent customer service and patient satisfaction. Work closely with revenue cycle team to ensure clean claims and minimize denials.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and organizational policies (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission). Investigate and resolve patient or staff concerns in a timely, professional manner. Support and lead performance improvement initiatives and patient safety goals.

    Collaboration:

    Serve as the liaison between clinical support staff, front office staff, and providers. Participate in leadership meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support clinic goals. Communicate expectations clearly and provide regular performance feedback and coaching.
