Lanier Technical College – Hall County campus ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is conducting a search for the following full‑time, GRANT FUNDED, FLSA‑exempt, benefit‑eligible position. This position is funded by the GA Artificial Intelligence in Manufacturing (AIM) Coalition. The current expiration date for the grant is September 30, 2026.

POSITION:

DIRECTOR OF INNOVATION

REPORTS TO:

Dean of Advanced Technology & Engineering

SALARY:

Low to Mid $70’s annually, depending on education and qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Innovation is responsible for leading the development, implementation and execution of an incubator project that creates awareness and promotes educational pathways related to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in advanced manufacturing and automation. This includes creating strategies and programs that target students, counselors, and administrators in K‑12 schools in an effort to support the current and future workforce needs of Lanier Tech’s service area.

This role will also be responsible for partnering with Lanier Tech’s Department of Adult Education to promote education and career pathway opportunities for its graduates.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build relationships with K‑12 school systems within Lanier Tech’s service area and establish key points of contact for partnering.
  • Lead the development and implementation of outreach strategies, programs and events that promote AI, advanced manufacturing and careers in technology in general for K‑12 partners.
  • Develop working relationships with programs that support entrepreneurship opportunities and competitions for students such as GA Flex and InVenture programs.
  • Assist with reporting and administrative duties related to grant requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, project management, or marketing from a regionally accredited college or university AND three (3) years of work experience in a position related to educational partnerships, marketing and client relationships, K‑12 educational program development, project management, or entrepreneurship.
  • OR an Associate’s degree in education, business, project management, or marketing from a regionally accredited college or university AND five (5) years of work experience in a position related to educational partnerships, marketing and client relationships, K‑12 educational program development, project management, or entrepreneurship.
TECHNICAL

COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to work flexible hours and at multiple campuses/off‑site locations as needed.
  • Knowledge of academic course standards, and LTC’s academic programs.
  • Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary technical education.
  • Skilled in the operation of computers and job‑related software programs.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to data collection & reporting.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and professional attire.
  • Skill in the preparation and delivery of presentations and educational workshops.
  • Skill to build strong working relationships with the various departments at LTC as well as between local industry, K‑12 partners, and other key stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
  • Additional years of work experience beyond the minimum requirements.
  • Previous work experience in K‑12 and/or the Department of Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE).
  • A general knowledge or experience of current topics and practices in advanced manufacturing.
