Overview

Position Title:

Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C).

Employment Type:

Full-Time.

Location:

Gainesville, Dawsonville, and Braselton.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and team-oriented Physician Assistant to join our orthopedic practice, working closely with a spine surgeon and supporting general orthopedic services. This full-time position includes responsibilities in the operating room, clinic, and hospital setting, providing comprehensive care to orthopedic patients across the continuum of care.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Duties:
    Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinic setting under physician supervision; obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop treatment plans; order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.); provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and postoperative care; document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
  • Surgical Duties:
    First assist in orthopedic surgeries, including spine and general orthopedic procedures; perform surgical closures, wound care, and post-operative evaluations; assist with pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
  • Hospital & Rounding Responsibilities:
    Round on inpatient orthopedic and spine patients; manage post-operative care, including pain control, discharge planning, and coordination with care teams; respond to patient needs in collaboration with the supervising physician.
  • General Responsibilities:

    Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure high-quality patient care; participate in call rotation as assigned; maintain compliance with all regulatory, safety, and practice policies.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current PA-C certification
  • Active (or eligible) state licensure
  • BLS/ACLS certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Orthopedic experience preferred but not required; new graduates with strong interest in orthopedics encouraged to apply
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
Schedule

Full-time position;
Clinic, operating room, and hospital coverage;
Call requirements as determined by practice needs.
