- Perform preventive maintenance, including changing oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and vehicle inspection for mechanical deficiencies; perform light repairs as required.
- Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance, including OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety Inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive line components, etc.
- Maintain/repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
- Keep shop area clean and tidy; perform work in accordance with safety standards; dispose of all fluids safely and per regulations.
- Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records; up-fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
- Perform complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and some fabrication.
- Ensure prompt repairs by interfacing and coordinating with vendors for parts and repairs; perform roadside assistance as needed.
- Provide custom equipment by engaging in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks, including welding.
- Ensure availability of specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic systems, generators, electrical systems, hybrids, and on-board computer systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years’ experience in a related field (alternative: higher degree or certification plus 5 years’ experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of vehicle=torch service and repair experience; one year of customer service experience preferred.
- Possess or be able to attain a minimum of 4 A.S.E. certifications preferred.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
- Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds (tools, equipment).
- Must complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or provide a current DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
- Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and betypeparam able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
