Off Road Truck Driver

Summary

Drives truck off‑road and on active earthwork job sites with a capacity of more than three tons. Transport and dump materials such as soil, sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal or bituminous paving materials (earth materials).

• Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels.
• Prepare receipts for loads picked up.
• Maintain truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Load and unload truck.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Position blocks and tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.

• Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License.
• Must be able to read road maps and practice good safety habits; work in dusty or dirty surroundings.
• Follow instructions and meet set standards.
• Judge distances and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
• Required:
  
  Class A CDL, 21+ years of age, reside within 250 miles of Ocala, FL.
• Will train inexperienced CDL‑A drivers.
• Can work OTR routes with home weekly days.

Candidates that accept an offer of employment are required to undergo and successfully complete a pre‑employment physical examination. This exam ensures all potential employees meet the necessary health and fitness standards for the role. The examination includes a series of tests and evaluations conducted by a certified medical professional to assess overall physical health, identify any potential medical conditions that could interfere with job performance, and verify that the candidate is capable of safely performing the essential duties of the position.

Completion and clearance of this physical are mandatory steps in the hiring process.
