Job Description

Water and Irrigation Distribution: Assists in installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes, valves, air reliefs, and backflow prev enters. Assists in inspecting, maintaining, testing, repairing, painting, and greasing fire hydrants. Assists in coordinating permanent water meters and installing and testing backflow prev enters 2.5” and above. Assists in tracing water and irrigation lines for determining service. Assists in inspecting, installing, maintaining, and repairing water pump stations, including all mechanical equipment (ex: booster pumps, wells, valves, gauges).

Assists in locating and correcting water and irrigation distribution line breaks.

Sanitary and Storm Collection: Provides maintenance support for installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes. Assists in jetting to clear lines of 4” and above. Assists higher-level technicians in testing the piping system and equipment, including manholes. Assists in repairing pipe fittings and maintaining valves and underground pipes. Helps with transporting, mixing, and handling chemicals or using hazardous materials (other than cans of gasoline, batteries, pumping fuel, or access to normal janitorial cleaning materials).

Responsible for facilities or equipment carrying current fluids or gas that could endanger the public or other employees. Assists in locating and correcting sewer and storm distribution line breaks.

Training: Begin and complete hands on training and education curriculum for NCCER Core, and designated NCCER Plumbing Modules and designated Vendor Courses.

Vehicles: Operates UF vehicle(s)

Lift Stations: Provides support in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing lift stations, including mechanical equipment. Provides support in maintaining and pulling the sewer and sump pumps. Receives mentoring from supervisor and/or lead technician for determining the pump outs at the lift stations.

Schedule & Pay

NORMAL

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday through Friday, 07:00 a.m. to 03:30 p.m. 40 hours per week. Emergencies as needed; swing shift and on-call as required.

Salary: $17.00 Hourly based on experience.
