The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is a vibrant and collegial research community dedicated to rigorous research and mentorship. Technicians within the department have a strong track record of co-authoring publications and successfully matriculating into top-tier programs. studying how intercellular communication is required to build, maintain, and repair adult tissues.
The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics is seeking a motivated and organized Research Technician for a full-time position (up to 40 hours per week).
The successful candidate will assist with a recently funded project to study the effect of altered innervation of muscle fibers in a mouse model of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Responsibilities- Mouse colony management (scheduled feeding, breeding, genotyping, and general animal care)
- Tissue harvesting
- Protein detection assays (western blots and immunofluorescence)
- Molecular cloning
- Histology
- Tissue culture
- Maintaining clean and organized lab areas
- Managing ordering and supply inventories
- Creating and updating spreadsheets and other lab documents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Full-time work schedule preferred, but will consider a part-time work schedule. Experience in these techniques is highly desirable:
- Basic knowledge of genetics and cell biology
- Basic knowledge in molecular biological and histological procedures and techniques, including tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy, is appreciated.
- A background in mouse husbandry and tissue dissections would be a plus.
