Post Doctoral Associate
The Department of Epidemiology, part of the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida, is recruiting 1‑2 fully funded postdoctoral associate positions in the laboratory of Dr. Jinling Liu. Dr. Liu’s research focuses on big data analytics, systems biology, probabilistic graphical models, causal inference and machine learning to advance precision medicine. The lab has access to high‑dimensional multi‑omics data (WGS, WES, DNA methylation, RNA‑seq, proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics) and collaborates across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze multi‑omics data and develop novel statistical or deep‑learning methods.
- Write manuscripts and present research findings at conferences.
- Assist with grant applications and mentor students.
- Collaborate with experts from other fields to integrate and mine diverse data types.
- PhD degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, biomedical informatics or a related field OR a PhD in biology or a related field.
- Strong background in programming (Python, R, or C++).
- Experience with statistical, machine‑learning and AI techniques.
- Independently critical thinking and good communication skills.
- Prior research experience analyzing biomedical data.

Salary and BenefitsAnnual salary: $62,232, commensurate with experience and in accordance with NIH postdoctoral salary guidelines. Postdoctoral associates are eligible for comprehensive health and leave benefits and have access to library and research resources. Each training year may provide funds for professional development such as conferences and education materials.
