Requirements- Technician I - High school diploma or equivalent and one year relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Are you a skilled veterinary technician who loves both learning and sharing your knowledge and is ready to join a busy team seeing cats, dogs, exotics, and large animals with heart issues? We are looking for our next team member in Cardiology! Our service sees a wide variety of cases, performs interventional procedures in our catheterization lab, and provides a full array of cardiac diagnostics and care.
Our team also works closely with our Open Heart Surgery team providing surgical repair for dogs with mitral valve disease.
A Veterinary Technician in the Cardiology Service at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital provides nursing care to patients being seen for cardiac issues, assisting with receiving appointments, diagnostic workups including echocardiograms and ECG, measuring blood pressure, assisting with minimally invasive procedures in the Cath Lab as well as a variety of general technical duties for patients seen in our service.
Nursing staff in this service work closely with several faculty veterinary cardiologists, residents, and veterinary students on a daily basis. Applicants should thrive in a fast paced, patient‑focused environment and also enjoy providing excellent customer service to a wide variety of clients, coworkers, and referring practices.
- Non‑Credentialed Veterinary Technician: $18‑22

When appropriate certifications are achieved, promotional opportunities to a level II title may be available. This position will also become eligible for transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan.
