Large Animal Hospital Veterinary Treatment Technician I/II (CARE)
- In a university academic teaching hospital setting, support clinicians and nursing staff by instructing veterinary students in technical skills and performing medical treatments and procedures as directed by veterinarians.
- Contribute to providing exceptional facilities for patient care and support access to the latest innovations in veterinary healthcare.
- Participate as a team member, demonstrating genuine care for people and animals, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
- Large Animal Hospital Veterinary Treatment Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling and treating horses; or one year of experience in a veterinary academic teaching hospital with similar duties.
- Large Animal Hospital Veterinary Treatment Technician II: High school diploma or equivalent; four years of experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling and treating horses or two years of experience in a veterinary academic teaching hospital; and certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician.
- Certification or licensure as a veterinary technician is preferred, but not required.
- Typical schedule:
five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per workweek, with a primary shift (Day, Evening, or Night). - Possible reassignment to rotating, split, or extended shifts based on hospital needs; days may vary including Sundays, weekends, and holidays.
- May require working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or on-call duties; position is essential personnel and may include reporting during campus closures.
- Post-offer health assessment required.
- Expected Salary: $18-25 hourly
- Full-time benefited position with PTO and retirement, retention bonus eligibility, and potential for Vet Tech School tuition assistance and paid CE.
- Health insurance options offered (HMO and PPO) and shift differentials in addition to base pay.
- Promotion opportunities to a level II title and potential transition into a TEAMS (staff) salary plan as applicable.
- Preferred but not required:
