Classification

Minimum Requirements:

Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program and four years of professional nursing experience. Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.

Job Description: Plans and directs clinical research activities.

  • Review protocols, interface with research teams and develop appropriate source documents, including MD orders and research worksheets.
  • Develops clinical resources for the implementation of clinical research activities.
  • Coordinate activities administered by the research program or service area and develop and implement procedures for the Clinical Research program/service area.
  • Act as liaison between medical providers and research teams and CRV staff.
  • Oversee participant scheduling and visit approvals.
  • Supervise research support staff engaged in carrying out research and clinical protocol; provide instruction and direction to CRV Nurses.
  • Responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals for CRV UF staff with the Director of Operations; conduct annual skills evaluations/needs assessment for all staff.
  • Address practice variances, monitor trends and develop action plans.
  • Responsible for interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures; with the Director of Operations and CRV Coordinator, develop and maintain SOPs for the Clinical Research Vehicle.
  • Conduct training and in-services for medical procedures, research procedures and protocols prior to implementation.
  • Conduct continuous process improvement evaluation.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulations relating to the State of Florida Office Surgery Registration.
  • Coordinate resources of the Clinical Research Center to accomplish goals; maintain compliance with research certification of all equipment; budgeting and acquisition for all new equipment; coordinate maintenance of all CRV medical and clinic equipment.
  • Oversee logistics of supplies, including specialized research equipment, medical supplies, linen and perishables.
Salary

Expected Salary: $70,000 - $75,000

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program and four years of professional nursing experience. Licensed as a registered nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.

Preferred:

  • Valid FL RN license
  • ACLS certification
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of basic principles and good clinical practice of clinical research
  • Experience coordinating clinical research studies
  • Skill in the use of nursing equipment and instruments
  • Ability to collect, collate, analyze and evaluate data from clinical research studies
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to work effectively and independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be available to work weekend shifts
