The Malcom Randall VA Healthcare System's Specialty Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic mid-level Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP). Our ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program.

The Advanced Practice Nurse {APN) II
- Ill Nurse Practitioner {NP) practices in designated Service, Program, or Clinic to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs {VA) mission. The NP provides advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management, with the emphasis on health promotion, protection, and preservation, disease prevention, risk reduction, behavior modification, and patient education and counseling. The NP practices to the full extent of their education, training, and certification.

Core and supplementary functions are outlined in the clinical privileges documents that correspond with the position. The NP has prescriptive authority, as indicated by their role and outlined in the clinical privileges documents.

Duties include but are not limited to:

* Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, through evidence-based diagnosis and treatment.

* Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.

* Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

* Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.

* Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.

* Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

M-F 8am-430pm (

Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
