Overview

The Lillian S. Wells UF Department of Neurosurgery/Neuro Oncology is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to join our clinical team. Our clinical department is a team of highly skilled Neuro Oncologists. As a Nurse Practitioner or PA, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive care to our neuro-oncology patients. You will have the opportunity to gain specialized experience working closely with our Neuro-Oncologists and brain tumor patient population.

Our vision is centered around an integrated care model, where you will be involved in every aspect of patient care, from diagnosis, navigating them through treatment and coordinating follow-up care. This approach ensures a positive patient experience and excellent continuity of care. Your responsibilities will include conducting outpatient clinic visits for our patients, assisting attending physicians during clinic sessions, and participating in clinic review and tumor board with your team.

Additionally, you will handle patient phone calls, triage cases, interpret laboratory results and imaging studies, and prescribe appropriate medications, therapies, and referrals. There will also be opportunities for you to assist in our inpatient consult service. You will be collaborating closely with your attending physicians and resident Neuro Oncology team to deliver high-quality care and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Minimum

Education and Experience Requirements:


Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant. Credentialing:
Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current and clear license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Florida. BLS is required.
