OverviewEnsures coordination and continuity of patient care for transplant patients in order to maintain organized and efficient support to staff and other health care professionals. Responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health; assessing the patient's response to treatment protocols; communicating appropriate data to physician staff; implementing nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols; and anticipating potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications.
Must demonstrate ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age‑specific needs and organ(s) transplanted and provide care according to protocols and with practice of nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited four‑year baccalaureate program in nursing (BSN) required.
- ASN who is in the process of obtaining a BSN will be considered.
- Master's degree in nursing or related health‑care field preferred; eligible Master's program holders considered.
- Current registered nurse (RN) license required.
- Minimum three years of nursing experience, with at least two years of medical‑surgical experience with transplant patients.
- Critical‑care or transplantation experience preferred.
- Knowledge in transplant immunology, technical aspects of surgery, interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory data, and clinical management of patients.
- Motor Vehicle Operator designation: will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non‑frequent driver.
- BSN or equivalent bachelor's degree in a health‑related field required.
- Current RN license in the state of Florida (ARNP or RN).
