We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operational Excellence (OPEX) Specialist to join our team in Gainesville, Florida. This position will lead transformative initiatives that enhance efficiency and quality across the organization. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving process improvements, reducing throughput times, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Leveraging Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality Management principles, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, implement best practices, and deliver measurable results that support our strategic goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:- Develop and execute strategic plans to accelerate OPEX implementation
- Actively participate and collaborate with the Global OPEX team to implement OPEX activities
- Assist functional managers in adopting OPEX practices and transfer knowledge to enable line managers to drive improvements
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure production and assembly processes are foolproof and cost-effective
- Implement OPEX performance measurement systems, standards, and training at value stream level
- Develop and maintain performance statistics to monitor departmental efficiency and take corrective actions.
- Conduct OPEX assessments and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Design and implement frameworks that encourage cultural change and establish a learning organization
- Act as a partner for focusing on monitoring, standardization, training, and consulting.
- Conduct regular technical and Lean techniques training sessions to enhance competency levels.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools, project management, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Lean certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability in process thinking, analytics, and implementation strength
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality Management
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to manage change and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Analytical mindset with creativity and problem-solving capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technically related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
