Job Summary

Sanitation Tech responsibilities include maintaining buildings in a clean and orderly condition. This role performs heavy cleaning duties—cleaning floors, washing walls and ceilings, dusting, and removing trash—while working closely with the quality department to ensure a sanitary environment for product safety. Additionally, the Tech may operate forklifts and floor‑scrubbing equipment and is expected to exhibit strong observation, auditing skills, and a thorough understanding of GMPs.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize and complete sanitation functions ensuring that environmental procedures are being followed.
  • Follow SOPs related to sanitation.
  • Maintain an environment that is sanitary, attractive and orderly.
  • Maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Perform daily concentration checks on cleaning chemicals.
  • Perform daily hygiene checks.
  • Confer with management and production personnel on sanitation problems and recommend changes in equipment or work practices to improve standards.
  • Ensure that cleaning activities do not pose contamination risk to the products.
  • Follow proper waste‑removal practices.
  • Ensure that dedicated cleaning tools are used in appropriate locations.
  • Adhere to all safety and GMP policies.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English language, written and spoken.
  • Self‑starter who can perform without full‑time supervision.
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Responsible and self‑managed.
  • Excellent follow‑up and tracking skills.
  • Independent worker able to plan and prioritize workflow.
  • Strong attention to detail.
Education

High school diploma/GED required.

Experience

1–3 years in a similar role.

Working Conditions

Exposed to heat and cold, internal temperature changes, and outside working environments.

Physical Requirements
  • Focus on a physical task for a prolonged period without losing edge.
  • Work in an agricultural environment and be able to work 10 to 20 feet off the ground using ladders.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
  • Ability to lift and carry fifty pounds unaided on a regular basis.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods depending on position and/or shift.
