Job Summary

The Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs serves as the senior leader responsible for providing vision, leadership, and direction for all student affairs operations at North Central Texas College. Reporting directly to the Chancellor, this position oversees the development and implementation of policies, programs, and services that promote student success, engagement, and retention.

The role provides executive oversight for Enrollment Management, Advising & Completion Resources, Counseling & Wellness, Residence Life, Student Life, Career Services, Dual Credit, and Red River Promise. The Vice Chancellor ensures these departments operate collaboratively and effectively to deliver a seamless student experience.

As a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, the Vice Chancellor contributes to strategic planning, institutional policy, and resource management to advance the college’s mission and student-centered goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Leads the Division of Student Affairs, establishing goals and priorities that align with institutional mission and strategic objectives.
  • Provides executive oversight for Enrollment Management, Student Life, Residence Life, Advising, Counseling, Wellness, Career Services, and other programs.
  • Develops and monitors the Student Affairs budget to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with college policy.
  • Promotes student retention and success through collaboration with Academic Affairs and institutional partners.
  • Oversees the development, revision, and enforcement of student policies, including conduct and behavioral standards.
  • Supervises and mentors division leaders to promote leadership development and professional excellence.
  • Serves on the Chancellor’s Cabinet and other leadership councils, contributing to strategic planning and institutional initiatives.
  • Provides leadership in crisis management and response coordination through collaboration with the Behavioral Intervention/CARES Team.
  • Represents the college externally through community partnerships, state agencies, and higher education organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide visionary leadership and direction for multiple departments, ensuring that Student Affairs operations align with the college’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
  • Deep understanding of student development theory, retention strategies, and engagement practices that promote academic achievement, personal growth, and persistence to completion.
  • Expertise in developing, managing, and monitoring large-scale divisional budgets, ensuring the responsible allocation of institutional resources and adherence to fiscal accountability standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data, metrics, and trend analysis to inform strategic decisions, forecast enrollment, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration among academic, administrative, and community partners.
  • Proficiency with higher education systems such as Jenzabar, CRM platforms, and reporting tools to streamline communication, improve service delivery, and support data-driven planning.
