job duties:
general statement: this is a professional position responsible for human resource supervisory functions within the florida department of agriculture and consumer services’ division of plant industry personnel office.
management: serves as assistant human resources manager for the division of plant industry. Hires and trains staff, assigns and reviews work, and provides feedback to staff. Initiates counseling, disciplinary, pay change, or classification actions, as necessary. Reviews, analyzes, develops, and recommends improvements to internal practices and policies to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer service. Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.)
of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner. Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures. Provides training to division. Ensures division personnel intranet site is up-to-date and customer oriented. Acts as division human resource manager, as needed.
