• This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
• As a candidate, you are required to provide documentation to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications (e.g., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts).
• Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.

• A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
• One (1) year experience landscaping or maintaining grounds and property or related work.

• Must be able to bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist, grasp, push, and pull.
• Must have manual dexterity with hands and fingers.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or more.

Ensure proper maintenance of base lawns, shrubs, and trees.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining all lawns with mowing height not to exceed 6 inches between cuttings
• Maintaining all field areas with mowing height not to exceed 8 inches between cutting, including fence lines
• Maintaining edging along sidewalks and curb areas once a month during the growing season
• Maintaining hedges and shrubs, trimmed at least once a month during the growing season
• Caring for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch
• Trimming and/or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls
• Picking up and emptying waste and recycling receptacles as required
• Maintaining irrigation systems, including winterizing and starting in spring
• Trimming or picking flowers and cleaning flower beds
• Using hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, axes)
• Operating equipment and tools to prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges (shears, pruners, chain saws)
• Operating vehicles and powered equipment (mowers, tractors, chain saws, edgers, clippers, sod cutters, etc.)

Ensures proper maintenance and servicing of lawn equipment, including:

• Performs minor maintenance and repairs on push and riding mowers; identifies equipment requiring contract maintenance
• Performs minor maintenance and repairs of weed eaters, chain saws, hedge trimmers, walk-behind edgers, blowers, and stick edgers
• Ensures an adequate supply of oil, fuel, weed eater string, and minor repair parts are on hand

• Knowledge of English language structure, spelling, grammar
• Knowledge of customer service principles and processes
• Knowledge of chemical composition and handling of substances, safety, disposal
• Skills in operating equipment or systems
• Coordination and dexterity abilities
• Ability to move and manipulate objects quickly
• Physical stamina to perform repeated movements and operate equipment
