High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Responsibilities
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance of specialized equipment or machinery located in ACS managed facilities to include tunnel washers, automatic bedding dispenser, water filling stations, chemical dispensing stations, rack washers, autoclaves, filter housing, automatic waste vacuum system, biological safety cabinets, animal transfer stations, scales, freezers, refrigerators and other equipment as assigned by manager or designee.
  • Maintain Reverse Osmosis systems including repair or replacement of parts and regular testing to include membranes, pumps, filters, water valves, solenoid valves, water coil connections, pressure reducing stations, chlorine tank, acid tank etc.
  • Paint and repair facilities to include hallways, animal holding areas and support spaces.
  • Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions. Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools or power tools. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blue-prints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.

    Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electrical testing devices. Initiate and close out electronic maintenance tickets to document work performed.
  • Operate Incinerators, tabulate usage and submit data for charging.
  • Escort contractors and ensure any deviations to schedule of project are reported timely to manager.
  • Keep up to date on required training and SOPs in Policy Manager and input time worked using facility computers or assigned equipment during normal working hours. Ensure that leave requests, overtime and weekend requests are submitted timely to area manager via Time Clock Plus.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Salary and Benefits

Expected Salary: $21.00 hourly

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Florida Class E operator (driver) license.

Preferred: Prefer experience working in research animal facilities. Knowledge of maintenance and proper functioning of cage wash equipment. Must have strong customer service skills especially with research partners and peers.
