- This is a technical consortium level position supporting 10 County Health Departments. The position is intended to assist the System Administrator in supporting the CHD users with hardware, software and networking functions.
- Support requires frequent travel to consortium CHDs for on‑site support. Duties include assisting DCSA with LAN and WAN support at the local and regional level.
- Perform workstation/server setup and configurations, network settings and peripheral device installation within assigned consortium CHDs.
- Monitor the use of software and hardware throughout the consortium – provides ongoing identification and resolution of user needs through on‑site, phone, and remote user support.
- Assist, coordinate, install and implement distributed computer system hardware, software, and communications components including enhancements and upgrades.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot methods to resolve hardware & software problems in the consortium CHDs.
- Maintain a work plan and schedule for consortium support. Generate, track and process assigned help tickets through the Help Desk Application.
- Assist in the preparation of and provide training for the proper use of computer equipment and assist in system documentation and distribution as directed by Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for securing the designated information set for confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate access for all information both confidential and public record.
- Respond to notifications of suspected or confirmed viruses and quarantine infected devices.
- Develop, maintain and ensure adherence to Department of Health and ACHD security policies, protocols and procedures as a Information Custodian.
- May be required to work extra hours or days in emergencies; extended hours support or Subject to Call may also be required.
- Knowledge of distributed processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of problem solving techniques.
- Ability to process information logically and solve problems.
- Ability to develop training programs related to distributed processing.
- Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed systems components.
- Ability to identify and define user task needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Minimum – A valid driver’s license.
- Preferred – Industry certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, etc.
