Overview
Responsible for coordinating the daily efficient operation of the Cardiac Echocardiography Department by ensuring that adequate staffing of appropriately trained employees is maintained. Lead Tech further makes sure that adequate levels of supplies and inventory are provided, and that all necessary equipment is operational. Is further responsible for monitoring and evaluating staff’s performance and providing corrective action as necessary. Lead Tech performs Adult Echocardiograms as well as other special procedures in a competent fashion as necessary.
QualificationsMinimum
Education and Experience Requirements:
Completion of formal education in Cardiac Echocardiography, typically obtained by completion of two year Cardiopulmonary Technology Program, AS or equivalent, with minimum three years of experience in Echocardiography, performing both pediatric and adult echocardiograms, or completion of formal ultrasound education and training, eligibility for registration as RDCS, and minimum four years experience in Echocardiography performing both pediatric and adult echocardiograms preferred.
Prefer registration as RDCS, or CCI, and three years experience in a fully equipped echocardiography laboratory with both pediatric and adult patient populations.
