Overview

College of Dentistry, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is searching for a Clinical Service Representative II. The role involves making appointments for patients, checking patients in and out of a very busy clinic, answering the telephone on a daily basis, and compiling monthly statistics reports for the clinic.

Duties
  • Make OMFS/CID appointments and remain knowledgeable of policies for accepting patients.
  • Answer the telephone daily and contact new patients by phone regarding appointments.
  • Type and mail letters to all new patients, including appointment information, payment procedures, and a map of the area.
  • Confirm clinical appointments.
  • Gather, verify, and enter demographics and insurance information.
  • Ensure authorizations are in place prior to patient arrival; request, scan and store patient’s dental/medical documents into Axi Um.
  • Schedule all incoming referrals, including UF Health facilities and COD clinics.
  • Identify and collect deductible, co‑payments on services; coordinate appointments with various treating providers within COD and UF Health.
  • Arrange for interpreters by contacting Centers for Independent Living or using Crya Com phone system.
  • Assist with other clinical office duties as needed.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant office experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Effectively operate computers.
  • Handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner.
  • Perform basic arithmetical calculations.
  • Follow office procedures and practices.
