Job Description

This position will provide overall programmatic oversight and coordination of the Florida Pediatric Readiness Program for Rural and Community Emergency Departments and other Emergency Medicine Research projects funded by federal and private grants focused on pediatric emergency medical services and pediatric readiness. The project manager will oversee program objectives, streamline communication with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare researchers, content experts, state stakeholders, and community agencies, collect and analyze program data, develop work plans and status reports, track deliverables and dissemination activities, and perform other administrative duties.

The position will report to the Associate Chair of Emergency Medicine Research in collaboration with other project co‑investigators and will engage regularly with Florida EMS agencies and emergency departments.

Responsibilities
  • Works with rural community emergency departments, state stakeholders, GIS consultants, hospitals, freestanding EDs, and EMS agencies to achieve pediatric readiness recognition based on national EMS for children performance measures. Collaborates with PIs, investigators, and other emergency medicine research staff to implement the program; coordinates and manages all aspects of the program; manages program grant deliverables and timelines, and prepares and submits required progress and status reports;

    develops detailed work plans, resource documents, timelines and milestones; is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of the program; leads project meetings and drives project issues through to resolution; leads the development of best practices and tools for relevant programs; manages project costs, community outreach, and reporting; communicates regularly with all project stakeholders and investigators.
  • Develops and implements research, quality improvement, surveys, and protocols related to the project; assists in developing data collection forms, protocols and checklists; conducts Delphi processes; performs data analysis in collaboration with biostatisticians and investigators; assists with data management in ArcGIS systems, REDCap, Qualtrics, and other databases; ensures regulatory documents are properly completed and filed; serves as a liaison between investigators, IRB, REDCap, and other relevant healthcare professionals who are part of the research or patient care team for smooth and informed implementation of project studies and deliverables;

    stays current on all funders’ trainings and requirements; implements good clinical practice (GCP) and follows the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), HIPAA, and University of Florida policies and procedures in regard to research, quality improvement, and program implementation.
  • Conducts pediatric readiness site visits across Florida; develops project meeting, educational and outreach materials, presentations, progress reports, infographics, posters, social media, and articles; conducts and manages project‑related literature databases; creates meaningful patient and provider education materials or videos; completes other assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in EMS, pediatrics, emergency care, trauma, public health, education, multimedia technology, data collection, project management, and sponsor reporting.
  • Provider‑level experience as an emergency medical technician (EMT), paramedic, or nurse.
  • Master’s level education in nursing, public health, or other relevant degree.
