Supervisor, HIM Coding | Ancillary Coding Team shift

Overview

Responsible for recruiting, supervision, training and evaluation of coders. Manages workflow processes and personnel to accomplish the timely and compliant coding of hospital medical records/accounts. Participates in special projects.

• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA),
  Certified Coding Specialist (CCS),
  Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
• AHIMA Certified ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hospital inpatient and/or outpatient medical record coding and reimbursement
• One (1) year of prior supervisory experience preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of stated requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
  , including Word, Excel, and Power Point
• Ability to work nights and weekends
  , as required to support workflow
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external teams and customers

Employees in this position:

• Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver

Note: A frequent driver is defined as an individual who uses a personal or UF Health Shands vehicle:

• At least once daily,
  or
• At least five (5) individual trips per week,
  or
• Drives, on average, more than 150 miles per week in the performance of job duties
