Job Summary And Qualifications

Responsible for establishing the initial and on‑going impression for patients, families and/or caregivers, and other customers. Responsible for accurate and timely scheduling of patient appointments, complete and accurate maintenance of medical records, and providing support to clinical and administrative staff to enable operations to run as smoothly as possible on a daily basis.

What you will do in this role
  • JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES:
General Responsibilities
  • Ensures the application of customer service principles in meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers to provide satisfaction
  • Oversees opening and closing of SHC, including proper use of alarm system.
  • Greets patients and visitors using eye contact. Communicates effectively and courteously with patient at all times.
  • Answers phone and directs calls in a courteous, timely manner.
  • Coordinate completion of requests of patients, families, visitors and vendors that present to front office. Handles and supervises all patient inquiries appropriately.
  • Distributes outgoing and incoming office mail and staff messages timely and appropriately.
  • Remain informed of Medicare guidelines. Able to appropriately communicate related guidelines to patients/families as deemed appropriate.
  • Alters communication to accommodate age‑related problems:
  • Speaks distinctly due to loss of ability to discriminate sounds.
  • Focuses light directly on any objects due to decreased visual acuity.
  • Slows pace of presentation due to slowed cognitive function.
  • Performs other related functions as assigned.
Appointment Scheduling
  • Performs and oversees patient scheduling and assures compliance with scheduling requirements and processes.
  • Oversee new patient scheduling, ensuring insurance coverage is verified, they are well informed of the department practices, and are scheduled in a timely manner with new patient packets being mailed timely.
  • Ensure reminder calls are made to all scheduled patients the working day prior to the appointment.
