Overview
Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures for diagnosis and treatment in a fast paced environment, requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative; following department and hospital policies and procedures in a safe and productive manner.
The MRI Tech must be effective with communication, clinical skills, and able to work positively in a high stress environment with patients, peers, families and other internal / external personnel. The MRI Tech is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of UF Health Shands, assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the patients care. Other duties will be assigned within the scope and licensure of the MRI Tech.

Minimum
Education and Experience Requirements:
Prefer experienced MRI Technologists. Prefer satisfactory completion of an accredited MRI program with advanced MRI certification or registry eligible for MRI certification. Prefer at least one year of experience within the Radiology or MRI department with knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy a plus. Candidates that are not MRI registered may be required to complete the Medical Imaging Consultants (MIC) ‘MRI Cross-Trainer’ dependent on the level of experience.

NOTE:
A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Prefer ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT registered technologist. Must pass the ARRT or ARMRIT advanced examination for MRI certification within one year of employment as a MRI Technologist. Must have current BLS certification.
