Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist – HLA | Histocompatibility | Days | Full-time

Job overview: Performs simple and complex analyses on tissue, blood, and body fluids using laboratory instrumentation, manual methods, and standard operating procedures. Trains other technical personnel in the performance of laboratory tasks. Approves the performance of tests by technicians. Uses independent judgment and assumes accountability for high quality standards.
Schedule: Full‑time, days, variable days of the week.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent that meets qualifications for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist from the Florida Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel.
- Must meet state licensure requirements as stated in FL Statute 64B3-5.003 Technologist.
- One (1) year experience in NAACLS‑approved program OR one (1) year working as a Technologist in a hospital laboratory.
New hires effective October 1, 2024 must have a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field. Academic equivalent or an academic and work‑experience combination is acceptable. Current employees hired or transferred into the position prior to October 1, 2024 who hold a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent that meets the state licensure requirements under FL Statute 64B3-5.003 Technologist will be grandfathered in.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must possess either a temporary or current license as a State of Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the required specialty(s) for the job.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.
