Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six or more years of experience.

This position, part of the General Accounting (GA) department within the CFO Division, is responsible for assisting with the development and operationalization of general accounting/ finance activities, closing, and financial reporting for select University of Florida Component Units (CU) in Workday. The position will also act as a support liaison in finance and accounting activities and standardization of closing and financial reporting activities to additional component units.

This position will provide guidance across the UF Enterprise and the CFO Division as it pertains to the CU general ledgers and financial reporting.

• Certified Public Accountant or equivalent Certification strongly preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Extensive knowledge/understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience with fiscal operations managing general ledger or financial reporting activities.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems, interpret, and recommend solutions or changes.
• Excellent customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.
• Flexibility and adaptability dealing with various priorities.
• Positive attitude and team player, able to thrive in a collaborative environment.
• Experience using People Soft and/or Workday Financial systems.
• Experience with internal and external audit activities and management of audits across financial reporting.
• Ability to understand various business processes and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
