Job Description
The College of Medicine, Office of the Dean, Division of Finance and Administration (DOFA) seeks a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage FCPA disbursements, cash management, fixed assets, insurance coverage, contract invoicing, real property leases, and serves as the primary liaison for accounts payable with TD Bank. The incumbent works independently with minimal supervision, proactively manages assignments, ensures accuracy, and represents the office within and outside the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all FCPA disbursements and maintain detailed records for auditing.
  • Manage inventory of FCPA fixed assets.
  • Evaluate annual insurance coverage requirements for FCPA and secure appropriate coverage.
  • Oversee bi‑weekly cash management processes, monitor cash balances and liquidity, and report findings.
  • Generate invoices for Shands 1/12th contracts, verify invoice data, and monitor payment status.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of payable contracts, document procedures and communicate results.
  • Serve as primary contact for all accounts payable interactions with TD Bank and resolve related inquiries.
  • Maintain a database of all real property leases, monitor key dates, and provide updates to support decision‑making.
Expected Salary

$54,000 - $59,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with MS Dynamics SL Accounting System and PN3 Interface (highly desirable)
  • Experience with People Soft and fiscal accounting modules
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Understanding of fiscal record posting and balancing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
