Job DescriptionThe University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology, seeks a full‑time faculty member with Program Director experience to lead a growing academic division focused on oncology. Candidates must be practitioners of evidence‑based medicine, enthusiastic teachers of hematology/oncology fellows, and may possess experience in non‑malignant hematology or solid tumor specialties.
The Program Director will provide strategic leadership for the Cancer Center’s academic mission, overseeing education, training, faculty development, and integration of basic, translational, clinical, and population sciences education. The role aligns with institutional priorities, accreditation standards, and national oncology education benchmarks.
The Program Director collaborates with Cancer Center leadership, department chairs, and institutional partners to cultivate an academic environment that supports trainees, faculty, staff, and advances the Cancer Center’s mission.
Key Responsibilities- Academic leadership and strategy for oncology education programs.
- Design, implementation, and evaluation of education and training initiatives.
- Faculty development and mentorship across career stages.
- Program oversight and assessment, including compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Collaboration and representation on internal and external committees.
- MD/DO degree.
- Board‑eligible or Board‑certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
- Established record of academic achievement in oncology, cancer research, or cancer education.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic programs, education, or training.
- Experience mentoring trainees and faculty across career stages.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
- Experience with in an NCI‑designated Cancer Center or comparable program.
- Knowledge of CCSG requirements related to education and training (e.g., CPDM).
- National or international recognition in oncology, education, or academic leadership.
