The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, invites applications for a full‑time or part‑time faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor or Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer in Veterinary Business Management. The appointee will take over leadership of a well‑established and nationally recognized DVM certificate program focused on Veterinary Business, serving 30‑50 students per veterinary class. This program includes elective coursework (2 didactic courses and 1 clerkship) and business courses in the core DVM curriculum (2 didactic courses).
The appointee’s teaching responsibilities will include didactic and clinical teaching of professional students on business topics and administration of the certificate program, including a unique experiential clerkship where students perform practice evaluations for outside clinics under the appointee’s supervision and mentorship. All faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activities, professional outreach, committee service, and curriculum development. Opportunities for independent or collaborative research activities also exist.
- Lead the DVM certificate program in Veterinary Business, including curriculum delivery and program administration.
- Tutor didactic and clinical classes on business topics for DVM students.
- Supervise an experiential clerkship where students perform practice evaluations for outside clinics.
- Collaborate with other faculty to integrate business topics into core DVM curriculum.
- Engage in scholarly activities, committee service, and curriculum development.
- Required:
DVM (or equivalent) or PhD. - Preferred:
Demonstrated commitment to advancing veterinary practice through excellence and innovation in veterinary business instruction and assessment; at least 3 years of demonstrable experience in veterinary or medical practice; background in academic program administration, clinical teaching, and assessment. - Strong leadership, collaborative, and communication skills.
