Lecturer/Senior Lecturer

Candidates shall have received the academic degree appropriate to the assignment of duties, or equivalent experiences or accomplishments in the field may be substituted.

We seek candidates who can deliver high-caliber instruction in the general field of Earth Surface Processes in both introductory and higher-level undergraduate Geoscience courses, on campus and on-line. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in college-wide instructional activities designed to enhance the educational experience at UF, including the creation of innovative general education science classes with relevant geoscience content, and strengthen undergraduate pathways to professional careers.

Departmental service and curriculum development, in collaboration with other faculty members in the department and across campus, will support the mission of building a vibrant educational environment. Applicants are encouraged to describe how they would help achieve that goal.

UF is located in Gainesville, a city of approximately 150,000 residents in North-Central Florida, 50 miles from the Gulf, and 67 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, and within a 2-hour drive to large metropolitan areas (Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville). The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

Completion of a M.Sc. degree in Earth Sciences/Geosciences or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience.

The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences/Geosciences or a related field by 15 August 2026.
