University Overview

UF is the state’s oldest, largest, and most comprehensive land‑grant university located in Gainesville, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 2 courses per semester in French language, literature, and culture, including courses focused on the medieval period (some may be taught in English).
  • Participate in service, including advising students, contributing to departmental events, and collaborating with the Center for Medieval and Early Modern Studies.
  • Engage in professional development and scholarly activities.
  • Explore and implement innovative pedagogical techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD by time of appointment in French, Romance Languages, Comparative Literature, or a related field.
  • Research expertise in medieval French studies.
  • Fluency in French.
  • Ability to teach a range of French language, literature, and culture courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching a range of French language, literature, and culture courses.
