Assistant-In Teaching Faculty – Management Communication Center
The Management Communication Center in the Warrington College of Business invites applications for a full‑time Assistant‑In Teaching faculty position focused on business writing. The role will staff breakout sections of the core undergraduate course, GEB
2216, Professional Writing, under the direct supervision of the course’s lead instructors.
- 9‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure, accruing faculty position with a Fall 2026 start preferred.
- Annual renewable based on satisfactory performance evaluations and fit with the Center.
- Potential opportunities for compensated teaching in the summer.
- Full benefits and access to administrative assistance, workspace, and computing resources.
- Teach and staff four breakout sections per semester; each section meets for one 50‑minute class period twice a week.
- Grade assignments and provide prompt, high‑quality feedback.
- Coaching students one‑on‑one in office hours.
- Work with a standardized curriculum developed by the lead instructor.
- Follow the direction of the lead instructor, including grading guides, curriculum, lesson plans, and course policies.
- Support and assist the lead instructor with the course.
Candidates must have flexible schedules and be able to teach in the mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings. Assistant‑In Teaching faculty are expected to contribute service to the Center and maintain professional qualifications by participating in workshops, webinars, and other professional development activities.
Minimum Requirements- Master’s degree or higher in Communication, English, or a related field, or a master’s degree or higher in an unrelated area with a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and relevant training or experience.
- Teaching experience in business writing at the college level.
Business knowledge and experience are preferred but not required.
