Job Description
The Department of Economics at the University of Florida invites applications for a full‑time, nine‑month, tenure‑accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Macroeconomics, beginning August 16, 2026. The Department welcomes applicants from all subfields of macroeconomics and advanced Assistant Professors. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics by the date of hire. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience;
it includes a full benefits package. Applicants with previous experience will receive the full tenure probationary period.
Expected contributions include:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to the Department’s vibrant programs.
- Conducting high‑quality research that results in publications in leading general‑interest and top field journals.
- Providing service to the Department, College, and University, and participating in shared faculty governance.
The Department of Economics comprises 22 faculty members and currently offers an undergraduate major, a minor, residential and online M.A. programs, and a Ph.D. program. The curriculum emphasizes econometric methods and data analysis, with opportunities for collaboration with the separate Food and Resource Economics Department.
