Position: Full‑time, 9‑month, non‑tenure accruing faculty position.
Date of Expected Hire: August 16, 2026.
Salary: $57,000–$59,000 based on qualifications and experience, with a comprehensive leave and benefits package.
We invite applications for a promotion‑eligible Lecturer in Vocal Coaching‑Collaborative Piano. The successful candidate will provide individual coaching to graduate and upper‑division undergraduate voice students, collaborate within the opera theatre workshop, teach diction classes, perform at auditions and graduate student recitals, and undertake additional service and engagement duties in the School of Music.
Responsibilities- Provide individual vocal coaching to graduate and upper‑division undergraduate voice students.
- Collaborate within the opera theatre workshop and support other voice‑related activities.
- Teach diction and accompanying courses as required.
- Perform at graduate student recitals, auditions, and other assigned duties.
- Participate in shared governance through service to the School, College, and University.
- Master’s degree in Vocal Coaching, Collaborative Piano, or a related field.
- Record of achievement that suggests potential for developing a national or international profile in the field, consistent with the unit’s promotion criteria.
- Evidence of successful collaboration and collegiality with faculty, students, and staff.
- Evidence of skill in designing and facilitating academic work that advances curiosity, respect, and open intellectual discourse.
- Doctorate or ABD in Vocal Coaching, Collaborative Piano, or a related field.
- Teaching or coaching experience of 3 to 5 years at the university level.
- Record of success in teaching lyric diction classes.
- Evidence of a commitment to innovative and cross‑disciplinary curricula.
- Demonstrated capacity for effective engagement in recruitment.
- Organizational, management, and communication experience in a higher‑education setting.
