The Department of Astronomy at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, invites applications for a Lecturer position to begin August 16, 2026
. This is a full‑time, nine‑month, non‑tenure‑accruing position, renewable on a yearly basis. Applications must be received by December 17, 2025

Teaching Responsibilities:
• Teach a combination of introductory and upper‑level astronomy courses (three courses in Fall and three in Spring).
• Support and expand experiential learning throughout the curriculum, including telescope site visits, direct research participation, and development of internship programs.
• Contribute to the department’s initiatives such as CLAS Beyond 120 and UF Quest.
Research and Facilities:
Access to UF’s research telescopes (including the 10.4‑m Gran Telescopio Canarias, the Dharma survey telescope, and the MINERVA Australis array), Hi Per Gator supercomputer, and the newly founded Astraeus Space Institute.
Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or a closely related field (required).
• Demonstrated teaching experience and commitment to teaching excellence.
• Experience in experiential learning methods is preferred.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in Astronomy or Astrophysics by the start date.
- Complete curriculum vitae, including a list of publications.
- Statement of teaching experience and interests.
- Research statement summarizing qualifications, past research, and future plans.
- References (names and email addresses of at least three references; letters to be submitted by Jan. 8, 2026).
