Overview
The University of Florida’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ Academic Advising Center (AAC) is accepting applications for two residential academic advisor positions (Assistant In classification with the possibility for one at the promoted Associate In classification). The anticipated start date is November 15, 2025. The appointment is a renewable 12-month, non-tenure track position.
ResponsibilitiesAdvising undergraduate students in CLAS on academic requirements and policies, as well as students seeking admission to a CLAS major; assisting students in developing and achieving their academic and career goals; participating in AAC programs and initiatives including presenting academic workshops; coordinating with UF’s summer orientation programs for first-year and new transfer students; serving as a liaison to other departments and centers in the college and across campus.
Advisors will work with one or more special populations: academically at-risk students, exploratory/undeclared students, pre-health students, pre-law students, and transfer students based on advisor interest and/or office need. This position may involve occasional participation in job-related activities outside of traditional work hours.
Assistant In:
Master’s degree required, preferably in student personnel, higher education, educational technology, counseling, or related field.
Associate In:
Master’s degree required, preferably in student personnel, higher education, educational technology, counseling, or related field, along with five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Experience in academic advising. Ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive environment through scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and/or professional service.
Salary and BenefitsExpected Salary:
Assistant In: $54,000 - $59,000 with full benefits;
Associate In: $60,000 - $64,000 with full benefits.
