north florida evaluation and treatment center (nfetc) is a 216 bed, all male, forensic, mental health rehabilitation facility. The center is located in northeast gainesville, florida on 639 picturesque acres with regular sightings of deer, turkey and other wildlife. Nfetc employs a variety of entry level to leadership positions including food service, maintenance, direct care, nurses, counselors, rehab therapists, medical doctors, security, psychiatrists, and psychologists.

this is a highly responsible and professional position serving as the senior physician - psychiatrist within the clinical unit. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office. • clinical care: conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• forensic duties: prepare court-ordered reports, provide expert testimony, and collaborate with legal teams on patient competency cases.
• team leadership: lead interdisciplinary treatment teams, mentor staff, and recommend educational needs to enhance patient care.
• quality improvement: participate in performance initiatives, review data, and implement corrective actions to improve outcomes.
• hospital committees: engage in key hospital functions, including mec and forensic board review meetings, and contribute to policy decisions.

• participation in court testimony and hospital meetings.
• adherence to state regulations, hospital policies, and ethical standards.
• performs other related duties, as required.

• certification in cpr, first aid, mandt, infection control, customer service, and osha requirements. Some driving may be required. Intervention with combative individuals may be required.
• knowledge of the principles and practices of program management and delivery of mental health services.
