General Function

The Associate Optometrist is a leader in delivering the brand promise and the organization’s key results through collaboration and teamwork. They ensure every patient receives the highest quality optometric care, maximize practice growth, and serve as a brand ambassador both inside and outside the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ensure executional excellence and winning results in partnership with the MOD and store team.
  • Demonstrate commitment to exceed results through strong KPI management and high accountability.
  • Position the brand as the leading optical provider within the community.
  • Operate as a stakeholder to all leaders within the organization and local market.
  • Place the patient/customer first and deliver excellent service.
  • Strive to exceed expectations on all KPIs.
  • Communicate a commitment to providing unsurpassed patient service, ensuring staff performs the proper service process steps:
    • Address all patients/customers’ visual lifestyle needs.
    • Make eyewear recommendations based on patient/customer needs.
    • Explain each step of the eye exam; listen carefully to patients/customers.
    • Utilize available tools and visual aids to summarize and ensure patients understand each aspect of their vision, eye health, and overall wellbeing.
    • Communicate effectively the need for annual eye exams and schedule appointments in TAB.
    • Conduct all services in accordance with protocol and accepted standards of care.
  • Ensure all patients receive accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations.
  • Establish a positive doctor/patient relationship.
  • Utilize and leverage all technology to deliver unsurpassed patient/customer experiences.
  • Maintain office systems and ensure state licensure is in good standing with completing continuing education requirements.
  • Provide effective training and guidance to team members using company programs.
  • Deliver clear, motivating, and constructive feedback to all associates in a timely manner.
  • Create a positive culture linked to corporate culture; identify what motivates each individual and direct conversations and actions appropriately.
  • Encourage associate decision‑making at the level closest to the patient.
  • Maximize partnerships through leadership, participation, and involvement.
  • Takes pride in the appearance of the office and maintains a safe working environment for all associates and patients.
  • Lead by example.
